NU-MATIC PAPER BUSTER GUN circa
1939 -
This toy was made in Red & Black.
The black version shown below is believed to
be the older of these two toys because of the two piece and less refined paper holder seen on the top of the gun.
It then progressed into the more efficient single piece stamping that is on the red gun shown here.

AERIAL TORPEDO CANE # 87 from the 1920's. This large
toy is 24 inches long when assembled, and is activated by Banging it against the ground as can be seen by looking
at the playful children on the box.

BIG SHOT HARMLESS PAPER BUSTER FIRECRACKER, CATALOG NO. 55
'ABSOLUTELY NEW' in 1950, this great toy is activated by first cocking a lever
that is located on the back of the toy. Once cocked, it is ready to Explode at any moment by simply pushing the button
seen on the side of the toy.

WOW! Below may be the oldest toy in this
entire collection.
This big handheld Paper Buster works by first manually pulling the paper to a fresh
position on the roll, and then by pulling the handle outward which extends the toy to over 18 inches long. Then, much like
a tire pump, you quickly push the handle inward which seals the paper against a rubber grommet, compresses air in the chamber
then BUST'S it through the paper making a loud BANG!
It is likely that the more complicated LMCO paper busters that use triggers, cranks and levers
to activate the air compression chamber evolved from this more simplified version that only uses 'good old fashion
elbow grease' to compress the air.
Also because it is stamped PAT. APL'D. FOR, unlike many of the other toys which have issued
Patent numbers, it is possible that there had yet to be any issued Paper Buster Patents.
